In 2021, Softhread announced the results of a successful collaboration between MDEpinet-HIVE and Softhread Inc. on a demonstration pilot to highlight the technical feasibility of integrating the Chios™ blockchain platform with the High-performance Integrated Virtual Environment (HIVE), conducted in partnership with HIVE system owners. The ecosystem uses the High-performance Integrated Virtual Environment (HIVE) provided by DNAHIVE and Blockchain data provenance and smart contract-driven permissioned system as provided by Softhread. The pilot was completed and demoed to the 2021 Temporomandibular Joint Coordinated Registry Network to showcase the first implementation of a patient-driven data registry ecosystem for Temporomandibular Joint Disorders.
Our platform functionality includes e-consenting and user access, as well as data provenance and access control for multi-site clinical trials. Additionally, we offer enhanced security and operational efficiency for IoT networks for medical sensors and devices. Our privacy and security portfolio of tools offers and innovative solution for any protected, highly sensitive data exchanges. Our transparent, decentralized trust network is designed to be industry-agnostic and workflow-agnostic, ensuring interoperability and being cloud-independent, as well as optimizing security via integrity-protected private chaincode functionality.

DR. INGRID VASILIU-FELTES, CEO:
In addition to her leadership and angel-investor roles in several national and international organizations, Dr. Vasiliu-Feltes brings vast experience in the commercial and academic arenas. As a digital innovator and transformation expert, Dr. Vasiliu-Feltes has had the opportunity to drive large-scale deployments of emerging technologies such as blockchain and AI across various industries and markets.
Dr Vasiliu-Feltes has a track record of executive leadership roles at Mednax and the University of Miami and international organizations such as the Government Blockchain Association and the World Business Angels Investment Forum. She holds executive certifications from several Universities, such as Artificial Intelligence and Business Strategy, Blockchain Technology and Business Innovation from MIT Sloan; Finance, Negotiation and Bioethics from Harvard; and Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford. She earned her executive master’s in business administration degree from the University of Miami, Herbert Business School in 2011 after completing her post-graduate Residency and Fellowship at the Columbia University of New York, College of Physicians and Surgeons, in 2003.
DR. YELENA YESHA, CO-FOUNDER & BOARD CHAIR:
Dr. Yelena Yesha is a Distinguished University Professor in the Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Her curriculum vitae stretches over a mile, detailing her accomplishments in technology in the last 25 years. Her triumphs with NASA, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Center for Advanced Studies (CAS), IBM, her leadership in the recent launch of the NSF Center for Accelerated Real-Time Analytics (CARTA) at UMBC, plus her pursuits in developing solutions in healthcare, and now the recent launch of her blockchain company Softhread, are glimpses into the life of a leader intent on changing the world. I met with Dr. Yelena Yesha to learn about the woman and her journey that chronicles the events that have led to her influence today.
Dr. Yesha realized that university wouldn’t be sufficient to realize her dreams. She wanted to build products. She remembers her early passion for pursuing innovations in computer-based diagnosis. She would soon be invited to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the U.S. Department of Commerce and NASA to give lectures.
DR. ELIOT SIEGEL, CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER:
Dr. Eliot Siegel is a Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Softhread. He has garnered numerous achievements and had a transformative impact in the world of radiology and imaging informatics. He is currently Professor and Vice-Chair at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Diagnostic Radiology, and the Chief of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine for the Veterans Affairs Maryland Healthcare System, both in Baltimore, MD. Under his guidance, the VA Maryland Healthcare System became the first filmless healthcare enterprise in the United States. He is a well-known thought leader and speaker, who has written over 200 articles and book chapters about PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and digital imaging, and has edited six books on the topic, including Filmless Radiology and Security Issues in the Digital Medical Enterprise. He has given more than 1,000 presentations throughout the world on a broad range of topics involving the use of computers in medicine. Dr. Siegel was symposium chairman for the Society of Photo-Optical and Industrial Engineers (SPIE) Medical Imaging Meeting for three years, is currently chair of Publications for the Society of Computer Applications in Radiology (SIIM), and has been honored as a fellow in that organization. He is Chairman of the RSNA’s Medical Imaging Resource Committee and a Board member of Carestream Health, a billion-dollar global company in digital radiography and computed radiography systems.
MR. TONY DEASEY, CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER:
Mr. Tony Deasey Is one of the Co-Founders and the Chief Financial Officer of Softhread and a British Chartered Accountant with extensive accounting, finance, and business experience. Having worked in public accounting with PwC, Tony spent 11 years, in increasingly senior positions, with Chesebrough Ponds Tony became CFO of Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (CHD). He subsequently served as CFO in Rollerblade Inc and World Kitchen Inc both of which were leveraged Private Equity Operations before moving to Celsion (CLSN), a Biotech Development Company, initially as CFO/COO before joining Northwest Bio (NWBT) as their CFO. After leaving Northwest, he formed 2nd Stage BioAdvisers LLC and provided CFO and management support to several start-ups (including Lanco Biosciences, Seguro Surgical, Inc., Stallergenes, Inc. and Flavocure Biotech, Inc.).
