Kelli Maxwell

Kelli has always been a self-motivated entrepreneur with the goal of building companies, but wasn’t sure how or what kind of company she could build. With an endless supply of creativity, Kelli dabbled in everything from events and party planning to interior design to art through her childhood and teenage years.

Feeling unfulfilled at her job as Marketing Director of a financial firm, Kelli took her first steps towards entrepreneurship and started her first company, Ever After Events. A Princess Party Company, Kelli and her staff dressed as popular princess characters and performed for birthday parties, parades, community events, etc. This is where Kelli found her calling. While creating content for and marketing her princesses on social media, Kelli quickly grew a base of freelance clients. Based on the newfound success, she took a leap of faith and started her agency, Ember Marketing Group. The company does a deep dive into each client and their needs to deliver the best results.

Kelli is often referred to as an influencer for her online presence and her presence in her community. In high demand, Kelli is proud of her agency which currently has a waiting list of people wanting to work with her.

The Challenges and Bumps

The main challenges Kelli faced are in the areas of time management and delegation. “It’s very easy to burn out on content creation, especially when working with the same clients for years and constantly coming up with fresh new content, so I had to learn how to take care of myself to make sure I could perform mentally and delegate to my team,” recalls Kelli.

The Pandemic Memories

Ember Marketing Group was one of the lucky ones that benefited from the pandemic. When Montana got shut down in the spring of 2020, Kelli had an influx of clients who were looking to survive through getting their businesses shut down through creative ways to market their products and services and reach the people at home through social media and advertising campaigns. Ember Marketing has been largely unaffected by the pandemic, with business growing steadily ever since.

When asked about the five factors that have contributed to her company’s success, Kelli listed these:

  • Authentic
  • Bold
  • Creative
  • Confident
  • Disciplined

People Matter

Ember Marketing Group has an open communication policy. Everyone is always free to share their ideas, thoughts or improvements, and management is always willing to listen and implement, whether internally or for a client account. Ember Marketing Group is a place for big, bold ideas to be born, cheered on and executed, and where people are valued far higher than dollar bills. Kelli’s motto and the foundation of the company is “Collaboration over Competition”. It reflects in her reputation and everything Kelli and Ember Marketing Group do in their community and their clients.

Future Outlook

Five years from now, Ember Marketing Group aims to become a multi-million dollar marketing agency. Kelli’s goal is to be renowned nationally as the Content Queen and one of the greatest marketers of her generation.

Kelli’s most significant advice for anyone who is an aspiring entrepreneur is to value people above all else. “At the end of the day, your relationships and connections are all you have, so make sure they’re good, your word is good, and you go above and beyond for everyone, whether they are paying clients or not. I promise the money will come if you start with integrity and never compromise on it to make a quick buck.”
