A Leadership Team that Leads from the Heart

CEO Barclay E. Berdan leads a seasoned team of health care executives charting the current and future operations of Texas Health Resources. He joined Texas Health in 1986 as Vice President/Administrator for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth before he took over as CEO of Texas Health in 2014 after serving as Chief Operating Officer. He has been recognized by Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for 2021.

Winnie Tang Miao, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer leads the company’s core business transformation and new business creation, including research and development and strategy. Becker’s Hospital Review has named her one of the “130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know” (2015).

Carla Dawson, Chief People Officer, is responsible for all Human Resources functions, advancing the culture, and preparing the workforce for the future. She holds CBP and CCP certifications from WorldatWork.

Rick McWhorter, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer provides accounting, financial, risk, and affordable health leadership and support. He is a certified health care financial professional and a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

David J. Tesmer, M.P.A., Chief Community and Public Policy Officer, is responsible for providing strategic direction and management in public policy, stakeholder relations, faith, spirituality integration, and community health improvement.
