In 2013, Adrian Cernat, CEO and Co-Founder of SmartDreamers, embarked on a mission to develop a product that would facilitate connections between candidates and companies. In 2014, Mihai Ceusan joined the company as CTO and Co-Founder, contributing his enthusiasm for startup environments. United by a common vision, the two began to create their product, which would ultimately evolve into a SaaS Recruitment Marketing Software solution. The first investment round was completed in 2014, and by 2016, the company had begun to gain traction in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region. However, they soon recognized that the market was too limited for their original business model. In 2018, they redirected their efforts toward a SaaS Recruitment Marketing Software solution with the goal of modernizing talent acquisition. This strategic pivot marked a significant turning point, enabling them to attract clients on a global scale.

In February 2019, SmartDreamers secured their first international customer, L’Oréal, which recognized the potential of their vision and took a chance on a nascent startup. This collaboration pushed SmartDreamers to step beyond their comfort zone, requiring them to adapt their product for integration with some of the world’s largest corporations.

Today, SmartDreamers is celebrated as one of the leading recruitment marketing platforms in the sector. Their product is built on a straightforward yet impactful philosophy: to bring the best marketing practices into talent acquisition while prioritizing the candidate experience. This focus has allowed them to address critical gaps in the talent acquisition landscape, such as templated career websites, inadequate tracking capabilities, and exaggerated AI claims.
