The company has grown to about 200 people with a technical center in Michigan, a high-volume production plant in Ohio, and an energy storage systems development group in Hudson, Mass, and engineering resources located on the west coast and India.

Backed with investments from KCK group and offices in London, Dubai, Bay Area and New York, it acquired battery assets from Robert Bosch Battery Systems.

Today, the company is a leader in developing, engineering, manufacturing high-quality lithium-ion batteries and battery systems, serving electric vehicles, electrified transportation, industrial, commercial markets and ESS.

The team is led by expert Subhash Dhar, a 40 year veteran of developing and commercializing new technologies and products to the automotive & Energy Storage Systems industry, addressing the clean energy needs of emerging markets. He has extensive experience in new technology development, operations, strategic planning, and the commercialization of innovative products globally. Prior to starting ABS, he led various battery companies, including as CEO at XALT Energy and Founder, Chairman and CEO of Energy Power Systems from 2011 to 2017. At the beginning of his career, he developed and commercialized a Nickel Metal hydride battery which later became the backbone of the Prius hybrid car in the late 90s. He has also developed business alliances and manufacturing operations in Japan, China, Europe, and the USA. He has also served on several boards as director, including Curtis Instruments and Dukosi.
