Skyfri is a digital-first asset optimizer for the global solar industry

Guided by extensive industry experience and innovative approaches, Skyfri leverages technology to revolutionize the management of solar power plants. The company boasts a diverse team of solar asset managers, operations and maintenance (O&M) managers, performance management specialists, renewable energy investors, and independent power producer (IPP) executives.

Skyfri stands out due to its global industry expertise merged with digital solutions that deliver exceptional value. Its mission is to make solar energy the most accessible, intelligent, and environmentally friendly energy source through advanced technology and innovative practices.

Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Skyfri has offices in Bangalore, London, and Denver. The company embraces diversity, employing over 150 individuals from more than 20 nationalities, fostering a culture of shared experiences daily. Its technology-driven strategy for solar asset operations is reshaping the industry and fast-tracking the global growth of solar energy.

Skyfri Intelligence

Skyfri Intelligence provides 24/7 remote monitoring of site generation, quickly identifying and resolving issues such as underperformance, natural losses, and equipment failures in real-time. This enhances risk management, asset longevity, and return on investment. By improving revenue and minimizing operational expenses through real-time fault detection, Skyfri boosts the internal rate of return (IRR) for asset owners.

An integrated ticket generation system automatically creates incident reports and helps prioritize tasks for the O&M team. Various modular functions facilitate efficient daily management, allowing Skyfri to streamline operations from "sensor to revenue" and integrate easily with third-party software, ensuring a unified source of truth for asset managers and operators while maximizing real-time performance.

Skyfri SolarSCADA

For those looking to monitor their solar PV assets, the SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems are likely familiar. Most existing solutions are standardized packages that require custom configurations to meet the specifications of large utility-scale clients by incorporating numerous third-party components. While these systems are high quality, they can be expensive due to the time and hardware costs associated with effective deployment.

Skyfri SolarSCADA is the industry’s first fully integrated SCADA system tailored specifically for solar PV asset monitoring. With in-house hardware development, Skyfri simplifies sensor installation, calibration, and maintenance for standard instrumentation used in solar PV monitoring. Coupled with the cutting-edge solar monitoring software Skyfri Intelligence, this enables a complete turnkey data acquisition system installation without delays or costly commissioning overruns.

A New Era for SCADA Systems

When it comes to monitoring rooftop solar assets, previous systems often relied on legacy hardware not designed for high-resolution data or real-time control, and they frequently lacked the scalability necessary for modern, larger grid-connected PV installations. This outdated approach stemmed from the traditional needs of small-scale rooftops.

Skyfri's SolarSCADA capitalizes on the consistent data points inherent in a solar PV site and is developed as a low-cost, commodity hardware solution that implements common standards for all PV installations. The SCADA systems are delivered fully configured from Skyfri’s facility in Denver, CO, USA, ensuring sensor calibration, point configuration, and alignment are properly handled before shipping.

SolarSCADA is designed in accordance with the IEC-61724 guidelines for monitoring the performance of photovoltaic systems. All sensors meet the required accuracy standards and logging intervals, with system compliance contingent on the sensors selected during configuration.
