Carter Consulting received more than $4 million in grants and contracts in 2019. In 2019 they established Tennessee’s first minority-owned hemp farm and purchased three rental properties.

This collaborative endeavor required critical thinking, strategic planning, and interpersonal interactions. By collaborating with community organizations, the firm can meet the needs of its various stakeholders and provide the support that is not be found elsewhere.

Carter Consulting, Corp has secured nearly 10 Million dollars in Local, State, and Federal funding in 2020 and established more than 32 grassroots/community-based organizations, and assisted in the initiation of more than 50 Housing and Economic Development programs, including education and employment, crisis intervention, job training, counseling, emergency food assistance, recreational, housing and rehab, elderly, healthcare, domestic violence, family development programs, and whatnot. 

Carter Consulting is also an accredited. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) organization and is certified as a construction craft trade specialist by NCCER. 

Leader

Nicole Carter, the Founder and CEO of Carter Consulting Corp., is the firstborn daughter of a pastor and trained at a young age by her grant-writing father and RN mom. Development and community service run through her veins.
Nicole specializes in organizational details. Specifically, fund identification, grant-writing, contract bidding, program implementation, building capacity, organizational development, compliance, and monitoring/evaluation. Ms. Carter’s 22 years of experience has allowed her to steer a clear path to Carter Consulting, Corps vision, and mission.

Since its inception, Nicole has strived hard and burnt the midnight oil steadily, leading the way to pursue inclusive, equitable, and sustainable growth, ensuring a balance among economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. Nicole has spent a large portion of her career as a grant writer or grant monitor, allowing her to draw on her extensive expertise in this sector to assist the clients with whom she works in her capacity as president of Carter Consulting. Ms. Carter works with complete dedication and passion for helping others, which has allowed her to gain the necessary experience in leadership skills.

Being an excellent business mentor and a passionate leader, she aims at aiding other entities to succeed and thrive in the corporate/community market. Ms. Carter sits on the advisory boards of several local organizations and is the primary instructor for the well-attended regional community-training workshops: “Non-profits and Federal Funds.”
